The former manor farm buildings
Remnants of the Lower Manor Farm can be found near the crossroads of ulica Przecznia and ulica Chabrowa in the district of Kozy Dolne. The buildings, which were still complete in the early 2000s, formed a square similar to the St. Florian Manor Barn, with a road cutting through the middle. They were low buildings intended mainly for livestock, with a small residential part. The buildings were made of brick and covered with roof tiles. The oldest mention of the lower manor can be found in the parish register from 1658. In 1609, Kozy saw a number of armed incidents among noblemen, which resulted from an inheritance dispute after the death of one of the heirs. During the forays, the manor houses were plundered and devastated. According to the manor register from 1789, which lists the cattle in all of the manor farms in Kozy, the Lower Manor Farm had 28 cows, 7 heifers, 3 bulls and 10 calves. There were three manor farms in the village (in Kozy Dolne, Kozy Górne and by the Palace), a fact which shows that farming was one of the main income streams of the manor estate. Although the original farm buildings are all but gone today, the area is still commonly known as Folwark (i.e. Manor).
