The Gronner Estate
Until the Second World War, on the site of the present day junction of ulica Bielska, ulica Kościelna and ulica Krakowska, stood a house numbered 176. From the end of the 19th century, the building housed a colonial shop run by the Jewish family of Gronner, originally Pinkus Gronner and later by his son Wiktor. The narrow exit of what is now ulica Kościelna was squeezed between the houses of the Borths and the Gronners. Wiktor Gronner also ran a smithy, which was located on the other side of the road at no. 354. After the outbreak of the war the Gronner family were sent to Auchwitz and their house was demolished.
