The inn in Małe Kozy
The inn in Małe Kozy first opened in 1786. The innkeeper was then Józef Sablik. According to manor records, the inn furnishings included three fir tables with beech legs, a large table for musicians with a fir wood bench, three fir wood stools, and fir wood benches by the cooker. The items were located in the first room on the south side. The inn also had two funnels (1 large and 1 small), 60 beer guzzlers and 60 wine bottles. In 1910, the establishment was purchased by Roman Fabia. It had previously been run by the Jewish innkeeper Schlesinger, the Bogusz family and the Fisk family. With time, it became a popular meeting place for political rallies. During one such meeting in 1907, a number of political agitators with socialist views were imprisoned in the chimney shaft. The inn in Małe Kozy functioned until 1943. The building has an eye-catching façade. The characteristic porch with columns gives the building the character of a nobleman’s manor house. The house next to it is a former stable. There was also a smithy, now gone, which stood across the road from the inn. It was one of three large manor inns that operated in Kozy along the Imperial Road.
