The flour mill – Młyńska St.
The first diesel-powered flour mill in Kozy was built in 1928 by Wojciech Sztukator, a man of German nationality. Previously, flour production in Kozy had been based on the power of dammed water from mountain streams. This natural technology also provided the drive for the local sawmill. The Sztukator mill had a diesel engine drive. It operated a hulling machine, a Seka system roller, a grindstone and a flat sifter. The mill could produce 5 tons of flour per day. Wojciech Sztukator ran the mill from 1928 to 1938 when it was purchased by Stanisław Honkisz, but as the latter was unable to pay it off, the previous owner took it over in 1939. During the Nazi occupation the mill was still run by Sztukator. As a German citizen, he left Kozy just before the end of World War II. After the war, the mill was run by Stanisław Sztafa. Later, it belonged to the Board of Economic Mills and was used by farmers from distant villages, and finally became the property of the village council in Kozy. After the Second World War, the mill received an electric drive. The building has a characteristic brick façade, typical of the industrial architecture of the first half of the 20th century. The street where it stands is aptly named ulica Młyńska (Mill Street).
