The Wolf’s Pond
A short distance from the quarry to the south-east, in the middle of the forest, there is a small reservoir called by the locals Wolf’s Pond. It is presumed that this is not a natural reservoir but rather a man-made one. The date of its creation is unknown. It was probably used for trout breeding by a manor farm. Next to it is a second, slightly larger pond, which has a retention function. The area surrounding the ponds abounds in Douglas firs which are rare in the Carpathian forests.
