Accessibility Statement
The Kozy Municipality Office commits to ensuring the accessibility of its website Szlak Koziańskich Ciekawostek (available at: https://szlakciekawostek.kozy.pl) in compliance with the Act of April 4, 2019, on Digital Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Entities.
Date of website publication: January 2023 Date of the last significant update: January 2023 (no major modifications since then)
Compliance Status
The Szlak Koziańskich Ciekawostek website is partially compliant with the Digital Accessibility Act of April 4, 2019. This means that most requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA have been met, although some issues have been identified, listed below:
Accessibility issues:
• Alternative text descriptions: Not all images on the website have alternative text (alt). This may cause difficulties for screen reader users, especially concerning images containing critical information (e.g., historical photographs or information boards). Corrective action plan: Missing alt texts will be gradually added.
• Maps and complex graphics: The website presents a map of the Szlak Koziańskich Ciekawostek and images illustrating routes and points of interest. Interactive and static maps are exempt from mandatory accessibility requirements per Art. 3 of the Digital Accessibility Act, but their content might not be fully accessible to visually impaired users. Corrective action plan: We will provide an alternative description of the map. Users interested in detailed route descriptions can contact the office for further information.
• Keyboard navigation and focus: The website needs improvement in keyboard navigation, including adding a "Skip to content" link and clearer visual indication of keyboard focus. Currently, users navigating via keyboard must go through menu items before accessing the main content. Corrective action plan: We plan to implement a "Skip to content" link and enhance focus visibility (clear outlines or highlighting).
Actions taken to improve accessibility:
The website owner has already initiated steps to improve accessibility:
• Accessibility analysis: An internal audit using automated validation tools and manual checks has identified areas for improvement. A corrective action plan has been developed accordingly.
• Adding alternative texts: Work is ongoing to add missing alt texts for significant images, improving accessibility for screen reader users.
• User testing: The website has been tested using screen readers (NVDA) and magnification tools, highlighting navigation issues. Initial adjustments to keyboard focus order have been implemented, with further improvements planned.
• Training for content editors: Website content editors have received instructions on accessible content creation practices, including using proper headers, accessible lists, image descriptions, and adequate color contrast.
Planned accessibility enhancements:
We are committed to further enhancing the accessibility of the website:
• Completing alternative text descriptions: By the end of the second quarter of 2025, we aim to ensure all significant images have appropriate alternative text.
• Improving keyboard navigation: We will implement a “Skip to content” link and enhance visible keyboard focus indicators to facilitate easier navigation for keyboard-only users and screen reader users.
Website amenities:
• Structure and navigation: Content is organized clearly, with logical heading structures. Keyboard navigation via Tab and Enter keys is supported.
• Text readability: Text is clear and easy to understand, scalable up to 200% without losing functionality. The website includes a high-contrast mode to aid visually impaired users and is responsive to mobile devices.
• Color contrast: The majority of the text meets WCAG 2.1 AA minimum color contrast requirements (at least 4.5:1).

If digital accessibility cannot be ensured, an alternative access method will be proposed.
